ANNOUNCING OUR WINNERS

New Brunswick Book Awards winners announced  

May 6, 2021 - The Fiddlehead and the Writers' Federation of New Brunswick announced the winners New Brunswick Book Awards for outstanding works of fiction, nonfiction and poetry published in 2020 and for children’s picture books, published in 2019 and 2020, during a virtual awards presentation ceremony May 6.

The winners are as follows:

 

Mrs. Dunster’s Award for Fiction: Riel Nason, Quispamsis, Waiting under Water (Scholastic Canada Ltd.)

The Fiddlehead Poetry Book Prize: Allan Cooper, Riverview, Waiting for the Small Ship of Desire (Pottersfield Press)

 

Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick Book Award for Nonfiction: Philip Lee, Fredericton, Restigouche: The Long Run of the Wild River (Goose Lane Editions)

 

The Alice Kitts Memorial Award for Excellence in Children’s Writing: Marla Lesage (writer and illustrator), Lincoln, We Wear Masks (Orca Book Publishers)
